As the winner of the northwest league, Bill Lindfield won the Guernsey Qualifying heat for NW. This consists of being flown out to Guernsey put into all expences paid hotel, taken by boat to the isle of Herne for 2 days fishing with local guides.

A gala dinner presentation completes this fantastic 4 days before being flown home.

Bill has won this trip for the 3rd time and say's it is a fantastic trip.

However this year the dates clashes with the Diawa pairs an 8 day tournament in Southern ...

fished the area by the bird reserve but no joy loads of weed and no fish weather turned out awful Saturday night and all day Sunday high winds left early Monday morning weather bleeeding awful , nice to see its better fishing around here.

rock ferry again

went out again to rock ferry slipway, different state of tide fished 1530 - 1930 so up and down today, caught plenty of eels ( lost a stonking one, pulled my rod off the rest and straightened the hook) also a 32cm flounder. this place will fish at all states of the tide. spoke to a charter skipper on the way in, he said you can get sole down here and cod in the winter

I went down to the old shore at rock ferry and fished by the old jettys for tranmere oil terminal

with low water at 2315, got there at 1945 drove down the sllipway and fished out of the car,the rain was intimitant with an easterly wind.

was back home at 2130.

considering this was the worst state of the tide for fish i caught 6 eels and 2 good flounder in the dark, 2 of the eels were over 2lb with 4 being small, the flounders were both good at over 1lb each.

this is not a big venue to ...

Pm's secretary, Richie Burrows decided to put a non - league match on the alex dock wall today, hoping that the thornbacks would be there. Due to there being a big match on at Holyhead Breakwater, numbers were down to 6 members.We had the wall to ourselves and spread out along it. We fished it from noon till 5 and the fishing was dissapointing . We fished to an 18 cm lenght to weight conversion system and only had 6 sizeable fish, 4 thornbacks, 1 whiting and 1 flounder. Talacre transcended its reputation as a winter only venue by producing some bumper catches of dabs and small whiting.

On a day which gave perfect conditions over low tide, many pegs responded only to black lug tipped with mackerel while others, such as peg 34, drawn by the runaway winner, needed fresh crab to produce bites.

went to guernsey for a few days last week ,there are two charter boats fishing out of there out of the blue 11 and margaret k altough the latter mostley is half day trips. Booked for two days on out of the blue but only got out on one ,bait is all live sandells ,the weather was force 4-5 so we fished the reefs

We should never have set sail

Set off at 7am from monks Ferry.Going up the river should have prepaired us for what lay ahead.

This boat really moves and if you don't have wet gear on you will get soaked on a normal day.This day was no normal day

Fished Perch Rock today with our kid and John Doyle,fishing was very poor really for this venue.The 4 hour secession ended with John Barlow ,1 dab 3 whiting me, 2 whiting John D. 1 whiting.Quite a few fishing here today,not many catching around us.Fished in front of the Brazil buoy,crabs a pain as usual.Lovely weather as well .All the fish were caught on fresh black lug.

me and colin fished sat 26th july,launched 8am and went to find mackeral.....went looking,and looking,and looking....... eventually colin found seven and i found none then went to rough ground and had quite a good day,,colin opened his account with a 10 pund tope,then proceeded to hook into one of the largest tope i have seen for ages.... it wouldnt fit in the net and was probably too big to get in the boat anyway,estimate at least 35 pound if not bigger. Unhooked in water as we didnt want ...

well boys,we finally got out on friday 11/7/08,,,just me and colin dreaves in Simply White,launched about 8.00am and fished the egg bouy in the mersey till about 2pm. We then went to the rock channell to fish the smoothie mark. Colin had a fish on within 5 mins but it took him under the boat. 0 mins later he hooked in to another one which weighed 14.10. ,,,nice fish,,,,,,,about half an hour later i hooked into one which turned out to be a starry smoothound of 10.11...a quick hour on this mark ...

2 of us fished towyn by aberystwith with the pirates sac 24 members fished a cackin beach easy acces 100 yards walk to beach species were 20 school bass,4skate,2turbot,3flounder,2plaice,7dabs,4doggies 24 anglers , 6 blanked very breezy wind was brisk blowing right to left along the beach plenty of white horses ideal for bass etc etc fished into the dark but was very quiet round high water so it looks like a low water venue most fish were caught 2 hours before and 3 after all in all ...

gallows point was too busy with boats so he said to go down to nelsons statue by the brittannia bridge,
