I've been asked to do a report on the match but unfortunately don't have all the info, so apologises if any of this is inaccurate.
The river was about as rough as it gets really, with the wind coming in from the West we made the mistake of heading for the Clock Tower with Cookie.  We were getting bounced all over the place for an hour or so and when the anchor broke out we decided to move over towards the Wirral side, just before the Egg Bouy, which was a mill pond in comparison.
Up to this point, about 2 -3 hours in, we hadn't had a bite and things didn't really improve for us until the last hour and an half, when we suddenly started catching pretty much a fish every couple of minutes.
We had Thornback Ray, Dabs, countless Whiting, some whoppers, and a solitary Codling of 3 3/4lb which was big enough to win the pool.  cheers

The boats that were out was Jedi, Blue Noz, Josam, Hunter II and Roger's boat who's  name I can't remember,  as he doesn't come out that often!   Smile

Pole Position was shared by Roger and us (Josam) with 7lb - Roger had two codling and 3 whiting and we had 1 codling and 3 whiting.
I think Hunter II came 2nd with Jedi 3rd but not sure - by this time I was delirious with the excitement of winning the £20 pool!  cheers

Oh just to mention, my Eco Warrior, Tim managed to keep up his impressive record of letting decent fish go, it didn't half put a nice bend in his rod, and the tip was banging away while Tim did his best to shake it off.  In the end the bow that he uses for knots came undone and the fish was able to live another day. Well done again Tim!
 lol!

Cheers
Martin

You obviously made the right decision Colin, even if the fishing was great, there will always be another day. It's far more important to be there to support your lad; and well done him for getting a medal cheers
... and he'd beat you up anyway if you didn't go!  Very Happy

Well done to Martin & Tim for winning the last comp and to Colin's lad Ben for winning a silver medal. Could not make the last outing as the family were at Chester Zoo for the day, at least I saw some fish in the aquarium.
