Nice report that Dave and good photo's too.
A couple of those cod are remarkably clean looking... are you sure you didn't get them from Morrison's fish counter? :-)

Well done mate and keep the reports coming.

Martin

Dave,

Myself & Keith fished the wirral small boat comp on sunday along with a new boat from the club called "blue nose", the fishing from our boat ( Kingfisher ) consisted of at least a dozen codling upto 2lb couple of thornies best around 10lb, decent size whiting however as with the charter boat getting some bigger fish I reckon the reason being the amount of them fishing in the deeper water of the channel, the comp we fished was "zoned" for safety reasons and from that imaginary line the charter boats were anchored well into the channel
I don't think the pilot boat captain was very happy as he steamed through at a good rate of knots amongst the charter boat fleet anchored up

hi colin, the small boats down near us where well in the channel,we where fed up with the so called safety boat flying past us flat out at around 15 yards away while we where anchored and trying to fish, the pilot boat is another idiot who comes past on the shore side at about 40 knots just for fun (dick head) ,we heard him last time out on the radio to mersey radio when warned about a lot of small pleasure craft in the river his comment was I WILL TRY MY BEST TO WOBBLE THEM,a jet skier nearly came unstuck in the afternoon 2 of then chasing the ferry one cut across his bows and then fell off the ferry must have been very close to him when he passed him great day though

Starting to pick with the summer species on their way in like snapper and kingfish, but the wind has been against us most weekends for about 2 months. Been doing a bit of scuba diving as well, big fat scollies and crayfish. Very Happy
