PostSubject: BONES NOT MISSING A BEAT .   January 9th 2011, 19:26

My last few outings on the sea have been on either Merit1 or kirsty 111,so it was nice to give my own boat BONES a blow out today.headed south towards Castletown to start with and not much to show for it with only a couple of calig(pollock ) showing with the largest only at the 2lb mark . the sea was slightly lumpy but this did not figure in what i wanted to do.

I came back to the port sodrick area and picked up one or two whiting with an occational calig. With the boat going as sweet as a nut i gave it a blast back to a mark in the douglas bay area and fishing two rods ,one a shrimp rig and the other with daylight feathers on top and three home made red gill type muppets on the bottom all tipped with mackeral i lowered away and as soon as i hit bottom the rattle of whiting was quite clear .

Although not over run with them i had a nice half hour pulling them in, in five drifts over the mark including a full house of seven on one drop .The day was cold ,but it was so good to get off dry land once more and with a little luck we will be at it again before the end of the month .Sorry not much more to tell you just a nice few hours pssed on a boat .
